LIFE UPDATE

SO. I’ve haven’t posted in a while or been very active surrounding my blog at all tbh. In all honestly I was just super distracted with friends going to uni and trying to get a job. I had no motivation to write any blog posts and I was just a bit lost with what to do and what direction I wanted my blog to take. But anyway…

Hi. I’m back. I have recently started a new job where I am working 4 days a week and so far so good. It has been tough making the 8 am starts though as I haven’t had to set an alarm since my exams finished in June. But I’m sure I’ll get used to it. Regardless I’m enjoying having somewhere to go and people to see as it keeps me busy and fills the time.

In regards to my blog, I’ve had a brainstorm and tried to find inspiration for the direction of my blog and what I want it to be like. I’ve come to the realisation that I’m just not going to be someone who is always posting and has a strict routine when it comes to posting regularly. I enjoy blogging and I enjoy taking the photos and writing up my thoughts. But I’m busy and I don’t always have the time or the inspiration to be constantly posting. Nor do I want to lose interest or get stressed because I feel like I should be posting the same amount as others. So I will be posting when I have inspiration to do so and when I have something that I really need to say or want to get across or share with you guys. This is my plan for the moment, it may change and I may decide to switch up or some months post more than others but for now this is how its going to be.

Talking of things I want to share with you all, this LOVELY top is one of them. Its a recent addition to my ever growing wardrobe and its already become one of my faves and one that I reach for very often.  I found the designer  on Instagram and instantly fell in love with all of her products. She also sells hoodies, bags, and totes (I actually brought the bug tote the other day – LOVE IT).  The top is super great quality and just adds a little something extra than a plain white tee.

I’ll link the designer and the embroidered tee down below in case anyone wants to take a look!

ITALY ON 35mm

I recently got back my first ever roll of film that I shot not long ago on my family holiday to Italy and I thought I’d share the photos with you as I’m super happy with how they turned out. I brought a film camera (Pentax Pino 35-in case your interested) earlier on this year but I just hadn’t found the time to use it. So I decided to give it a try in Italy and the photos actually turned out quite well.

We visited a city called Lucca which is full of cobbled streets and cute little boutique shops. I think this was one of my favourite places we visited and it was just really lovely to explore all the pretty streets and buildings.

Another place that we visited was Colle val d’elsa. We saw it from a distance while driving back from somewhere else and decided that we would go back to explore another day. Although it took us absolutely ages to find it, once we were there it was actually really lovely. Its not a massive tourist spot so it was really quiet in comparison to some of the other places we had visited which was nice. There isn’t an awful lot to do there apart from some Crystal museums and displays, but we still had a nice time just wandering the streets and having a little explore. You also have to climb a super steep hill to get to the town (you can get a glass lift type thing but we decided against that-plus it wasn’t actually working on the day we went!). The view was really pretty though and we were able to see all of the new part of the town.

I’m really looking forward to taking more photos on my film camera now that I know it actually works and that the photos developed well. There’s something about shooting with a film camera that I really like and its exciting having to send off your film and waiting for the prints to come back and see how they came out.

Revision tips

Revision tips

Since exams are soon approaching I thought it might be a good idea to share some tips for revision. While I am no expert as to the best techniques or whatever I have revised for GCSE’s and AS levels and now for my A levels. So I know how stressful it can be and how hard it can be to get going and stay focused. Below are my top three tips which I hope will help some of you who may be struggling.

1. Distance yourself from your phone

I think its a good idea when revising to either turn your phone off or at least put it far away from where your sat. If I have my phone near me I’m to often distracted by a new notification or I just find myself procrastinating for absolutely ages. When I put it further away from me or turn it off I  am less likely to be distracted and can focus on my revision.

2. Time your breaks

I always used to tell myself that I was going to have a 10/20 min break and then get going again on the revision, however I always ended up taking breaks that lasted 30/40 minutes. This is purely because I would go on my phone, get distracted and lose track of time. So to combat this I have started setting a timer when I take breaks so that I keep on track and don’t waste valuable time scrolling through social media.

3. Take a break if you need it

Revision is HARD work and its tiring. So I think that it is so so important to have something nice to look forward to and to allow ourselves to have a break. There is so much pressure put on people to do well in exams and yes, while that is important and so is revision, it is also VERY important to not work yourself to extremes. If I have had a bad day at sixth form or I’m feeling more anxious and stressed than normal I will give myself the night off from revision. Yes okay, maybe that is a night wasted that I could have got work done, but it means that I can try to relax, zone out  and forget about revision for a couple of hours.

It’s important to work hard but it is equally as important to rest.

I would love to know any of you are currently preparing for exams and if so do you have any revision tips?

February playlist 2018

February playlist 2018

First of all, I want to apologize for not posting in a while. If i’m honest sixth form has been a lot recently and with exams coming up I am focusing the majority of my free time on revising. So while i’m still going to try and get posts up they wont be frequent for the next few months.

Although this post is called my February playlist, this is mostly a collection of the music I have been listening to throughout January and February. I am always finding new music, mostly through Shazaming every song I hear that I like on TV shows or films. So although some of these songs are fairly new, some have been out for a while.

I love searching Spotify and discovering new artists and songs, so I really hope that you find some new music inspo to have a listen to.

  1. Weightless – Adam French
  2. Say something – Justin Timberlake
  3. Hurt somebody – Noah Kahan
  4. Rearrange – Ella Vos
  5. Silhouette – Grace Carter
  6. Unknown to you – Jacob Banks
  7. You don’t know – Katelyn Tarver
  8. Love you like that – Dagny

Everyday jewellery pieces

Everyday jewellery pieces

I have never really been a massive jewellery wearer, which is mostly down to just being more of a clothing gal tbh and also I had a particular minimalist dainty style in mind.

However, last year I saw the brand Missoma circulating all over the YouTube and blogging community, and long story short I FELL IN LOVE WITH THEIR PIECES. Now this was unfortunate in a way because although absolutely gorgeous, their jewellery is not the cheapest… But we won’t dwell on that.

So when it got to family starting to ask for some ideas as to what I would like for my 18th birthday in December and and of course Christmas, I pointed them towards Missoma.

I am SO SO SO grateful for all the beautiful pieces that I got and I honestly cannot thank my family enough. I did get quite a few pieces, which were from various family members and each one is so special. I WAS WELL AND TRULY SPOLIT.

The two necklaces I received are perfect for layering as they are both pretty simple. I love the ‘A’ initial necklace which my parents got for me and this is probably my most worn item so far.

These bracelets are also absolutely stunning. The star one I wore a lot over the Christmas period and it made me feel extra festive. They are so dainty which I love and it means I can wear multiple pieces without it seeming too much.

Also special mention to the gorgeous Pandora ring which my sisters got for me. Its so pretty and I absolutely adore the colour (which is the December birthstone in case you were wondering). Plus this super cute ring holder from Oliver Bonas.

I love every single piece and I have really enjoyed wearing and styling them. They are so delicate and dainty yet they add so much to an outfit and I just feel so much more put together now when I’ve got my jewellery on.

Hope you enjoyed reading and seeing some of my fave jewellery! I’ll leave links to all the pieces below.

Let me know if your a fan of jewellery? Do you have a favorite piece or brand? I’d love to know.
